About the Artist: Chen Guohui (陈国辉)

Chen Guohui (陈国辉) is a highly respected ceramic artist from Jianyang, the historical heart of Jianzhan production. Immersed in the craft from an early age, he has dedicated his life to mastering and innovating the traditional firing techniques of Jian ware.

In 2014, he founded the “Zodiac Jianzhan Studio” (星座之路建盏工作室), where he began developing a distinctive series inspired by the twelve Western zodiac signs. Each piece merges cosmic inspiration with ancient artistry, creating vessels that evoke starry skies, oil-spot constellations, and luminous, multicolored glazes.
