About Huang Wenhua (黄文华)

Founder of Heyuan (和远·山隐)
Huang Wenhua is the founder of Heyuan 山隐, a studio nestled in the mountains and devoted to the refined art of Jian Zhan teaware. Embracing a return to nature, he creates elegant, comfortable Jian cups rooted in tradition.

Trained under master Wu Zhoufu (吴周福), a recognized inheritor of the Jian kiln and Jian Zhan firing tradition, Huang fuses traditional techniques with a modern eye. His works celebrate the peaceful balance between form, function, and nature.

Cultural Heritage Certification

The Heyuan studio and its work are associated with the traditional Jian kiln and Jian Zhan firing craft, which is recognized as part of China’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage. The studio’s Jian Zhan also carries regional Geographical Indication significance tied to Jianyang production.
