About Zhang Liangliang (章良亮)
Zhang Liangliang, born in 1953, is a renowned scholar, collector, and cultural advocate instrumental in the preservation and revival of Jian ware. He played a key role in the founding of the first Jian Zhan Lid Association, serving as its vice president. He has also held leadership roles in the Jianyang Collectors Association and the Fujian Ancient Toys Arts and Crafts Association.
With deep expertise in ceramics and ancient objects, Zhang has been invited to consult for the Jian ware cultural heritage evaluation committee and has contributed significantly to public awareness through media, exhibitions, and publications. His televised appearances on programs like CCTV’s Treasure Tour (巡宝) and Walking Through China: Nanping have brought the beauty of Jian ceramics to a wider audience.
Zhang has curated large-scale exhibitions, including the first exhibition of Song Dynasty Jian Zhan in Beijing’s Tianya Ancient Toys City, and served on key artifact authentication panels. He is celebrated not only for his scholarship and leadership, but also for mentoring younger generations in cultural preservation.
