About the Artist
支静 (Zhi Jing), born in 1986 in Jianyang, Fujian, is a senior-level arts and crafts artist specializing in Jian ware (建盏 / Jianzhan). She studied under Intangible Cultural Heritage inheritor 陈春华 (Chen Chunhua) and has developed a recognizable style known for colorful crystal glazes, floral effects, and luminous surface transitions.
Over the years, Zhi Jing has focused on combining traditional Jian ware firing methods with modern artistic aesthetics. Her work often highlights dramatic color changes that emerge through tea use and lighting, creating cups that appear almost jewel-like when viewed from different angles.
According to the booklet, her works have gained strong recognition within the Jian ware community for both their technical quality and artistic individuality. In addition to studying glaze formulation and firing techniques, she has also worked to help introduce Jian ware culture to younger audiences.

The booklet also mentions that some pieces are made using natural mineral glazes and iron-rich materials, with magnetic iron particles lightly attracted during testing.

Care & Tea Seasoning
The booklet includes traditional Jian ware care recommendations:
- Rinse the cup with clean water after drinking tea
- Avoid leaving strong tea residue inside for long periods
- Use frequently to gradually develop养彩 (yangcai / tea seasoning coloration)
- Allow the cup to dry naturally after cleaning
Over time, repeated tea use can deepen reflections and enhance the visible crystalline textures within the glaze.
