About the Artist: Ye Changqing (叶长青)

Master of the Changqing Dragon Kiln

Born in 1983 in Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian Province, Ye Changqing (叶长青) is a nationally recognized craftsman and mid-level artisan specializing in Jianzhan. With deep roots in the birthplace of Jian ware, he developed a profound passion for black-glazed tea bowls from a young age and graduated from Fujian Vocational and Technical College.

He currently serves as a council member of the Fujian Province Intangible Cultural Heritage Association (Jianzhan Committee) and manages the historic Changqing Dragon Kiln, where traditional wood-fired techniques meet modern sensibilities.

Craft & Technique

Using original mineral glaze and “iron tire” clay, Ye’s creations highlight the refined craftsmanship of Song Dynasty aesthetics. Each piece is fired in a traditional dragon kiln in Jianyang, yielding natural variations and exquisite textures.
