Biography
Ye Liwang (叶礼旺), born in August 1965, is a Jian Zhan maker from the Jianyang area whose career is closely associated with rabbit-hair (兔毫) ware. Published Nanping heritage records list him as a representative inheritor of Jian Zhan making.
Rabbit-Hair Practice
Local reporting describes Ye’s long-term focus on rabbit-hair Jian Zhan and on traditional hand processes using local iron-rich material, mineral and plant-ash glaze ingredients, and raw-body glazing. He established his own workshop in 2013.
Recognition
Jianyang District’s 2023 published list includes Ye Liwang among the municipal Arts & Crafts Masters. Fujian Ceramic Industry Association results also record his 束口对杯 with a Silver award.
Marks & Identification
The correct Chinese name is 叶礼旺 (traditional: 葉禮旺). Older FSOC material using 葉利旺 should be treated as a character error.
