Biography
Yang Jianping (杨建平) is a contemporary Jian Zhan maker working in Jianyang, Fujian. Existing artist material associates him with 聚匠堂 and with both traditional Jian glaze families and more expressive contemporary kiln effects.
Heart of the Ocean · 海洋之心
海洋之心 (Heart of the Ocean) is one of the glaze names most closely associated with Yang Jianping. Documented examples use a vivid blue center surrounded by a substantially darker Jian glaze, with each firing producing different transitions and radiating patterns.
Wood Firing
Wood firing is a documented part of Yang’s practice. A 2020 profile from 无恙窑 identified him as the Jian ware firing master specially engaged for its segmented dragon kiln and described his attention to kiln position, atmosphere, season and mineral-glaze behavior.

Published wood-fired examples under Yang Jianping’s name include 竹节杯, 火树银花, 曜变兔毫盏, 春江月夜琉璃盏, 盈满袖琉璃盏 and 流沙.
