吴小清Contemporary Jian Zhan · Yuyan Ceramics Art Studio · wood-fired practice
Biography
Wu Xiaoqing (吴小清) is a contemporary Jian Zhan maker associated with Jianyang, Fujian. Documentation accompanying attributed works states that he returned to his hometown in 2012 and established Yuyan Ceramics Art Studio in 2014.
The artist name documented with these works is 吴小清 (Wu Xiaoqing).
Wood-Fired Practice
Documentation accompanying the works associates Wu Xiaoqing with traditional dragon-kiln wood firing and Jian Zhan shaped by flame, ash, atmosphere and high-temperature glaze movement. His work includes classical hare’s-fur language together with modern series names such as 黑曜 and 千里.
Documented Glaze Families
兔毫 refers to hare’s-fur surfaces, one of the classical Jian glaze families. 黑曜 and 千里 appear in the artist’s contemporary studio documentation as named series. These modern names are best treated as studio terminology rather than historical glaze classifications.
Identification
The artist’s identity should be checked through the Chinese name, foot mark, studio materials, certificate and provenance. This is particularly important here because web search results for the romanized name can easily lead to other ceramic artists.
