Wu Jingen (吴金根) is a contemporary ceramic artist associated with Jian Zhan and, in particular, technical research into 夜光建盏, or luminous-glaze Jian Zhan. A granted Chinese invention patent documents the materials and firing method used to produce this effect.

Luminous Jian Zhan Research

Patent CN111620669B, titled 《夜光建盏的烧制工艺》, names Wu Jingen as inventor. Filed in 2020 and granted in 2022, it documents a specific preparation and firing process for luminous Jian Zhan and provides direct evidence of his technical involvement with the glaze rather than relying only on promotional descriptions.

Documented Recognition

Fujian Ceramic Industry Association competition records also list Wu Jingen and his work 《三足鼎》 (“Three-Legged Ding”) among award recipients in a Minyi Cup ceramic competition. This competition record also connects his name with contemporary ceramic production.
