Biography
Wang Qingxia (王清霞) is a Jian Zhan artist from Jianyang and founder of the Jingongtang (进贡堂) brand. A 2018 Fujian Daily/Southeast Net profile records that she entered Jian Zhan firing in 2008 after years of collecting and studying old Jian-kiln fragments and ceramic objects.
The same profile describes her seeking instruction from veteran maker Lu Guohua 卢国华 and then building practical experience through repeated testing of clay, glaze and firing conditions.
Glaze & Form Research
By 2018 Wang was documented as producing rabbit-hair 兔毫, partridge-spot 鹧鸪斑, crackle 龟裂纹, oil-spot 油滴 and wujin 乌金 surfaces. Her practice also included research into Jian-style cup stands, inspired by historic tea service and Song-period tea culture.
Technical Patent
Wang Qingxia is the named inventor on Chinese invention patent CN108975879B, 《窑变建盏烧制工艺》, a kiln-transformation Jian Zhan firing process filed in August 2018 and granted in June 2021.
Awards & Representative Works
Published records document a 2015 silver award for a partridge-spot tea bowl, a 2015 gold award for a partridge-spot bowl, a 2016 Jingdezhen gold award for 宇宙之星, and a 2017 Fujian 争艳杯 gold award for 银河之星. Government-hosted results also list 银河之星 among the Jian Zhan gold-award works.
Marks & Identification
Because Wang’s work spans several glaze families and firing approaches, identification should compare the full vessel, foot, maker mark, packaging/certificate and provenance.
