Wang Jing
Contemporary Jian Zhan artist · carved and pictorial ceramic work · Jianyang family tradition
Biography
Wang Jing is a contemporary ceramic artist working within a Jianyang family tradition. Her mother, Wang Liqin 王立芹, and her father, Wang Yongling 王永龄, are both associated with Jian Zhan, giving Wang Jing a direct household connection to contemporary ceramic production.
Carving & Pictorial Work
The documented works retained on this profile show Wang Jing moving beyond glaze alone. Her ceramic surfaces incorporate carved and pictorial imagery, including landscapes, flowers, birds and figures, combining decorative drawing with fired ceramic surfaces.
Material & Process
Existing artist documentation describes a process that moves from local clay preparation and shaping through carving, glazing and high-temperature firing. The resulting work combines Jian ware material language with a more illustrative, image-centered approach.
Identification
Because Wang Jing’s work includes varied decorative approaches, individual attribution is strongest when the piece is considered together with its base, signature or mark, accompanying documentation and family/workshop provenance.
