Biography
Teng Xiaogui (滕小贵) is a contemporary Jian Zhan maker associated with Jianyang and the Sanhe Jian Zhan (叁和建盏) name. His work is most closely associated with brightly iridescent Yaobian-style bowls under the 孔雀开屏 (“Peacock Displaying Its Tail”) and 七彩曜变 names.

Documented examples show dense crystalline spotting and multicolored halos over dark glaze grounds. The effect changes strongly under direct light, producing blue, violet, gold and green reflections that account for the “peacock” naming used across Teng’s work.
Forms & Variants
Published collector and market records show the Peacock series in several forms, including constricted-mouth bowls, yulan cups, incense-burner forms and other contemporary Jian Zhan profiles. 七彩曜变 is also used as a broader designation for his multicolored kiln-transformation work.
Marks & Identification
Because “seven-color Yaobian” and peacock terminology are used by multiple makers, the artist name, foot mark, certificate and packaging are more reliable identification evidence than glaze appearance alone.
