Biography

Ni Meiying (倪梅英), born in 1978 in Shuiji, Jianyang, is a Jian Zhan ceramic artist whose professional activity also extends into tea culture and ceramic decoration. She is associated with 南平市建阳区华锋建盏陶瓷厂 (Huafeng Jian Zhan Ceramics Factory).

Ni’s practice connects Jian Zhan making with the culture of tea use. A 2023 article published in Ceramics Science & Art, 《点茶的艺术价值和建盏文化传承》, identifies her as the author and lists Huafeng Jian Zhan Ceramics Factory as her affiliation.

Her career record includes hare’s-fur, wood-fired and oil-drop related work. A government-published result from the 2017 Fujian arts-and-crafts 争艳杯 competition lists Ni Meiying’s 《浩瀚星宇》 as receiving a bronze award.
