Luo Xi
罗希Jian Zhan artist · Wang Dongkai lineage · rabbit-hair, Yaobian and gold oil-drop work
Biography
Luo Xi (罗希), born in 1992, is a contemporary Jian Zhan artist. Published artist profiles describe her as having grown up around Jian ware culture and later studying traditional vessel forms and firing under Wang Dongkai 王东凯.
Practice
Her documented work includes Song-inspired hare’s-fur surfaces, Yaobian effects and traditional gold oil-drop / partridge-spot glaze. Object records also describe the use of an iron-rich Jian body, original mineral glaze and plant ash.
Glaze & Form
Luo’s work favors clear, naturally fired pattern development rather than painted decoration. The variations in spot size, streaking and metallic reflectivity are products of material composition and kiln conditions, so pieces within the same glaze family can differ substantially.
Marks & Identification
Original base marks, certificates and packaging should be used alongside vessel photographs when identifying her work.
