About Lian Hongda
Lian Hongda (连宏达) grew up in Shuiji, Jianyang. A 2024 Minbei Daily profile records that he first encountered Jian Zhan in 2004 and later became a student of Sun Fukun 孙福昆. Sun Fukun’s own Luhuaping studio profile also lists Lian Hongda among his disciples.
Studio & Practice
The Minbei Daily profile places Lian Hongda’s workshop at Baichapu near the Mayangxi area outside Jianyang. His documented work includes partridge-feather surfaces, flower-pattern bowls and other contemporary Jian Zhan forms. Later examples also combine Jian Zhan with lacquer finishing.
Recognition & Works
In 2018, Lian Hongda’s 随行茶盏 received a gold award in the Third Minyi Cup Jian Zhan ceramic-tourism souvenir design competition. The same 2024 profile records awards for 百花盏, a fifteen-piece flower-pattern tea set and 黄鹧鸪大撇口, along with museum collection of his work and professional craft qualifications.
Marks & Identification
Auction records also document works bearing the base inscription 连宏达印. Complete base, certificate and vessel photographs remain useful when matching individual pieces.
