About Li Ying

Li Ying (李英) is a contemporary Jian Zhan maker associated with the Jianyang ceramic tradition in Fujian. Jianyang’s 2023 published master list includes her in the city-level Arts and Crafts Master section.

Glazes & Documented Works

Published examples of Li Ying’s work show a strong focus on oil-drop (油滴) surfaces, including traditional silver oil drop, black-ground silver spotting and partridge-feather oil drop. Documented forms also include rounded bowl shapes and taller aroma cups (闻香杯).

Recognition

The Fujian Ceramic Industry Association’s Third Minyi Cup announcement records Li Ying with the work 黑底银斑, “Silver Spots on a Black Ground.”
