About Li Jianming
Li Jianming (李建明) is a Jian Zhan artist whose own booklet identifies him as a student of Sun Fukun (孙福昆). The booklet also presents Li as the creator of the 夜神曜变 (Yashen Yaobian) line and describes a long-standing interest in Jian ware culture.
Practice & Visual Language
The artist materials describe an original-ore, original-glaze approach to Yaobian Jian Zhan, with iron-rich bodies, crystalline surfaces and strong metallic visual effects. The preserved booklet shows luminous gold, blue and violet transitions and uses poetic themes to frame the work.
Named Series
Documented presentation names include 夜神 (“Night Spirit”) and 无相 (“Formless”). These names appear as part of the artist’s own presentation of his Yaobian work rather than as generic Jian Zhan glaze categories.
Marks & Identification
The surviving booklet, teacher photograph, certificate material and complete vessel photographs should be kept together when identifying individual works.
