赖金荣Jian Zhan artist · 建盏堂 · multicolor kiln-transformation work
Biography
Lai Jinrong (赖金荣), born in 1973 in Jianyang, is a contemporary Jian Zhan artist whose work is known for strong kiln-transformation color and a broad range of vessel forms. He founded 建盏堂建盏工作室 in 2005 and has spent more than two decades working with local mineral materials and plant ash.
He is a 工艺美术师 and 高级技师(国家一级). His 龙窑柴烧紫霞葫芦瓶, a wood-fired gourd vase made with natural mineral glaze, entered a provincial museum collection.
Glazes & Named Works
Lai’s style ranges from deep red and crackled surfaces to bright yaobian and multicolored iridescence. Named works include 赤焰 (“Crimson Flame”), 曜变豹纹 (“Yaobian Leopard Spot”) and 碧玉澜 (“Blue Jade Ripple”). Together they show a practice that moves between rounded Jian Zhan forms, more sculptural silhouettes and highly reflective glaze effects.
Recognition
His career includes a gold award at the 9th China (Hefei) International Cultural Expo in 2015, multiple gold awards across 2017–2018 exhibitions, a gold award at the fourth “Fuyou Cup” national carving competition in 2021, provincial-master recognition in Fujian in 2021, and service as a national carving-industry jury member in 2022. He also completed cultural-heritage training at the China Academy of Art.
