Kuangufang
宽古坊Ceramic studio · collaborative carving and sculptural decoration
About Kuangufang
Kuangufang (宽古坊) is a collaborative ceramic studio centered on the use of carving and sculptural decoration on ceramic forms. Its own studio literature describes a specialist team of more than twenty craftspeople working together to research carving techniques and develop functional and artistic pieces.
Studio Practice
The surviving documentation shows carved tea vessels with relief figures, architectural or figural panels and dark ceramic surfaces. The studio presents carving as the defining link between the different makers working under the Kuangufang name.
Documented Studio Artists
Two clearly identified artists in the preserved studio profile cards are Wu Xuemiao (吴学苗) and Huang Guanghua (黄光华). Their original profile cards are retained in the media gallery and references below. Other older profile text has been removed where the romanized names or Chinese characters did not reliably match the photographed source material.
Marks & Identification
The studio name 宽古坊 / KUANGUFANG appears prominently in the preserved printed materials. Keep packaging, studio cards and complete work photographs together when documenting individual pieces.
