About Fu Zhiqiang
Fu Zhiqiang (傅执强) is a Jian Zhan carving artisan whose work combines tea-bowl forms with hand-carved decoration. His documented pieces use carving as a second layer of making, bringing relief, figures and ornamental motifs onto the surface of Jian ware.
Carving Practice
Fu’s work focuses on carving directly into the vessel, including the bowl surface and foot area. The approach gives otherwise compact tea vessels a sculptural quality while keeping the Jian Zhan form central to the finished piece.
