Biography
Ding Shenghong (丁声洪) is a contemporary Jian Zhan craftsman from Jianyang. His work is characterized by strongly crystalline, multicolored surfaces and appears across several vessel forms, from classic bowls to taller and more sculptural cups.
A signed certificate names the work 釉彩 (“Glaze Colors”). His named glaze lines also include 紫金滴 and 翎花彩金油滴, expanding his known vocabulary beyond that single certificate example.
Glaze & Firing
Ding’s surfaces can develop warm red, gold and violet-blue fields with petal-like crystalline structures. His work includes high-temperature wood and gas firing, although the firing method can vary from one piece or series to another.
Forms
紫金滴 appears in douli, zun, kui-rim, straight-sided and bamboo-joint forms, demonstrating that the glaze is not tied to one silhouette. The 翎花 work likewise appears as a named colorful oil-drop treatment rather than a separate maker identity.
Marks & Identification
The hand-engraved 声洪 base signature corresponds with the full artist name 丁声洪 on the certificate and red seal. Presentation material also uses the phrases 用心传承 and 精心制作. The outer box is marked 建盏 and 国家非物质文化遗产, referring to the national heritage status of the Jian kiln/Jian Zhan firing tradition rather than to a personal title.
