About Chen Qingqiao
Chen Qingqiao (陈清桥), born in 1990 in Jianyang, Fujian, is a contemporary Jian Zhan artist and founder of 墨盂坊 (Mo Yi Fang).
He began his formal artistic path in 2014 through apprenticeship with provincial master potters. Four years later, in 2018, he established Jianyang Linzi Mo Yi Fang Culture Co., Ltd., creating a studio identity for a growing body of Jian Zhan work.
Chen’s pieces combine the material language of Jian ware with poetic contemporary naming. Birds, flowers, stars, butterflies and contemplative imagery recur in his titles, giving the catalog a literary character alongside its glaze experimentation.
