About Cao Weijun

Cao Weijun (曹伟俊) is a contemporary Jian ware artisan from Fujian whose work is associated with Hualong Jian Zhan 华隆建盏.

His documented pieces are especially notable for colorful crystalline surfaces. Alongside oil-drop and partridge-pattern work, his Jian Zhan can show vivid blue, green, gold and iridescent effects that give the traditional dark-glaze body a highly modern visual character.

Cao’s production also extends beyond individual cups into coordinated tea ware, including pieces from the 鸿福 · Hongfu series.
