About Liang Guilu
Liang Guilu (梁贵禄) is a ceramic artist from Shunchang County, Fujian, known for research and revival work connected with historic Shunchang kiln qingbai porcelain. In 2025, Fujian’s Department of Culture and Tourism listed him as a provincial representative inheritor of 顺昌窑陶瓷传统烧制技艺.
Qingbai Porcelain Revival
Reporting on Shunchang’s Song-Yuan kiln heritage records that Liang began researching historic ceramic production after the Guanshan kiln site was identified in the early 1980s. He studied with ceramic specialists in Jingdezhen and with folk craftspeople, eventually reproducing Shunchang qingbai techniques characterized by methods such as inverted and stacked firing.
Teaching & Cultural Work
By 2018, Liang had taught thirteen apprentices and had been recognized among the first “Top Ten Craftsmen of Northern Fujian.” Jianyang News also records later Jian Zhan artist Pei Chunyuan studying qingbai porcelain with Liang. In 2022, Liang was included in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s rural culture and tourism leader support program through Shunchang Liang Family Antique Ceramics Co., Ltd.
Marks & Identification
Liang’s work spans historical ceramic revival beyond Jian Zhan alone. Certificates, brochure pages and complete vessel photographs are therefore important when identifying a specific work or historic style.
