About Jin Hongyang

Jin Hongyang (金宏杨) is a post-2000 Longquan celadon artist from Baoxi, Longquan, and the ninth-generation inheritor of the Jin Pin Dragon Kiln (金品龙窑) tradition. She grew up in a celadon-making family; both her grandfather and father are described as inheritors of Longquan celadon firing techniques.

Training & Contemporary Practice

At age fifteen, Jin began a seven-year period of study with her grandfather. Her later work combines traditional celadon making and dragon-kiln knowledge with product design and contemporary tools. She has also established her own celadon creative studio, using the family tradition as a base for forms aimed at contemporary daily life.

Selected Works & Recognition

Her work 夏荷 was shown in a Zhejiang celadon international exhibition in Cairo in 2022 and later entered the collection of the Cairo Chinese Cultural Center. 无尘 was selected for the 12th China Ceramic Art Exhibition and received a bronze award. In 2024, 视界 was presented to a Kazakh ophthalmologist in connection with the television project 2024中国礼·陶瓷季.
