About Zhou Yunlong
Zhou Yunlong was born and raised in Shuiji Town, known as the hometown of Jian Zhan. Immersed in the local ceramic culture from an early age, he began studying wheel-throwing and refining techniques in 1995 at the former Jianyang Ceramics Factory. After 2003, he pursued advanced studies across various kiln systems and successfully developed innovative glaze styles such as Silver Droplets on Black, Colorful Gold, Yaobian, and Raw Ore Golden Oil Drop.
Through continued innovation grounded in traditional techniques, he overcame technical challenges like glaze vitrification, giving his bowls a cosmic visual depth characteristic of the “Universe in a Cup.” He also resolved the issue of rough rim texture, creating Jian Zhan with smooth, golden-edged rims—a major breakthrough in the craft.
