Zhang Guowei is a prominent Jianzhan artist from Jianyang, Fujian, known for his experimental yet refined glaze styles and his contributions to preserving and evolving Jian ware tradition. He studied under Master Wu Suiping and has been recognized as a distinguished member of the Nanping Artists Association and Fujian Provincial Arts and Crafts Association.
Signature Styles
- Heibai (黑白): A striking contrast of black and white crystallization, with a stark, ethereal aesthetic.
- Xirui (惜蕊): A vibrant and colorful glaze evoking blooming petals, rich in iridescence and inner glow.
- Xichun (惜春): A textured green glaze with bamboo-like elegance, often using thick-walled forms and subtle mottling.
