Yuan Zhaosen (缘照森) is a ceramic artist associated with the respected 独田 (Dutian) studio, based in Jianyang, Fujian Province — the ancestral home of Jian ware. Known for his precise craftsmanship and poetic artistic vision, Yuan’s work carries a sense of spiritual elegance rooted in tradition.

The artist’s personal seal, 缘照森, is engraved on the base of each piece, symbolizing his connection to nature and intention to “illuminate through harmony.” He specializes in traditional oil-spot (you di) glazes that shimmer with iridescent blues, purples, and silvers — a hallmark of true Jian Zhan artistry.
