Since 2016, the artist has gained national recognition across China for exceptional craftsmanship in traditional ceramic arts, particularly in the creation of Jianzhan (建盏) tea bowls inspired by the beauty of peonies — a classic symbol of prosperity and elegance in Chinese culture.
In 2016, the artist’s work was selected for exhibition at the China International Cultural Expo in Hangzhou, and won the Gold Award at the 14th China Arts & Crafts and Classical Furniture Expo with the piece Peony Pattern Bowl, earning the prestigious “Zhong Yi Cup” recognition.
In 2017, the work Peony Spirit Bowl was permanently acquired by the Nanping City Museum in Fujian Province.
In 2018, the Open-Lip Peony Spirit Bowl was added to the permanent collection of the Imperial Examination Museum of China in Nanjing. That same year, the artist again won the Gold Award at the “Zhong Yi Cup” with a piece titled Song Dynasty-Style Gray Shell Bowl.
At the 2018 National Handicrafts & Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo, the Peony Spirit Bowl received the Best Craftsmanship Award in the prestigious “Guo Jiang Cup”.
Also in 2018, the Peony Spirit Bowl was honored with a Gold Award at the 2nd Fujian Handicraft Exhibition.
In 2019, the artist’s Peony Spirit piece won a Gold Award in the Jianzhan category at the 3rd China World Heritage Arts & Crafts “Golden Lion Awards”.
In 2020, the Peony Spirit Bowl won the Gold Award at the Guo Jiang Cup during the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Arts & Crafts Expo, and was permanently collected by the Jianyang District Museum in Nanping City.
In 2021, the artist’s Peony Spirit Bowl won the Gold Award (Fudiao Award) at the 7th Cross-Strait Carving Art Competition, and the East-Mouth Peony Bowl received the Gold Award at the 4th Min Yi Cup Ceramic Creative Design Competition in Fujian.
In 2022, the Jiuzhou Kiln “Blue Amber” Bowl was awarded the Gold Award for Ceramic Art Design at the 4th Jinjiang International Home Decor & Building Materials Expo. That same year, the Peony Bowl was permanently acquired by the Strait Art Museum of the Fujian Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
Additionally, the Blue Amber Bowl earned a Gold Award at the Fujian Handicraft Gift Expo’s Qiao Yi Cup, and the piece Peony Spirit – Eternal Green was selected for exhibition by a collaboration between the Fujian Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department, the Fujian Museum, and the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
Throughout the artist’s career, each piece not only reflects mastery of traditional techniques but also a deep cultural heritage, earning respect in both artistic and academic circles. The Peony Spirit series in particular has become a symbol of timeless elegance and national pride.
