🌈 Signature Technique: Rainbow Oil Spot
You Wen’s technique uses multi-layered oxide glazes and fine crystal control to create iridescent, cosmic-surface Jian Zhan bowls. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind result of glaze alchemy and precise kiln management.
🏛 Studio & Kiln
The Youshi Wenzhen kiln features traditional wood-fired dragon architecture and is marked by the plaque “鹤鸣九龙” — symbolizing grace, legacy, and harmony. Many of You Wen’s teaware and teapots are carved with crane motifs, representing clarity, transcendence, and artistic flight.
🪶 Artist’s Philosophy
“The crane cries in the secluded marsh, its voice heard across the wilds. Fish dwell in the depths or in gentle streams. Joy lives in gardens, cherished beneath sandalwood trees. Stones from other mountains may refine our jade.”
This ancient imagery reflects his approach: rooted, resonant, and ever seeking refinement.
