Ye Shiming
叶诗明

Born in 1971, Ye Shiming is a nationally recognized ceramic artist specializing in Jian Zhan lidded bowls. He graduated in art design from Jiangnan University and began his formal ceramic training in 2000 under the mentorship of Master Huang Meijin, a National Representative Inheritor of Jian Zhan firing techniques.

Ye Shiming is a Senior Arts and Crafts Master (高级工艺美术师), a second-level national technician, and a designated representative inheritor of intangible cultural heritage in Nanping City. His work honors traditional craftsmanship while infusing contemporary aesthetics with poetic resonance and deep cultural roots.

Studio & Philosophy

Ye Shiming is the artistic director of Shi Ming Ceramics (诗明陶瓷), founded in 2016 in Jianyang, Nanping. The studio specializes in mineral-based Jian ware and has developed over 30 product lines. His artistic vision merges soul, fire, and form — interpreting the spirit of Eastern culture through the tactile language of Jian Zhan ceramics.
