About Xu Rubao (徐如宝)
Xu Rubao, born in 1978 in Jianyang District, Nanping, Fujian, is a respected folk collector and artisan specializing in tea ware and antique-style ceramics. Since 2008, she has operated the De Yu Jian Zhan Ceramic Studio and has been recognized for her work in reviving Song-style craftsmanship.
As a member of the Jianyang Lid Association, she has earned awards such as the Silver Medal at the 36th Chrysanthemum Cultural Festival, and has received the Cross-Strait Tea Ware Art Industry Award for Best Craftsmanship. Her dedication to traditional ceramic techniques was strengthened through mentorship under Liu Yuanfu, an acclaimed non-material cultural heritage master.
Xu Rubao’s works have been permanently collected by notable institutions, including the Xiamen Daily Calligraphy and Painting Academy and the Song City Cultural Hall. Her modern pieces — such as tea jars and vases — are also part of the Nanping City Museum collection.
In 2021, she was named Vice Chair of the Tea Ware Committee of the Fujian Collectors Association. Through her artistry and scholarship, Xu Rubao continues to bridge history and innovation in the world of tea ceramics.
