About Wu Xiaoqing (吴小清)

Wu Xiaoqing is a dedicated artist rooted in the traditions of Jianyang’s historic ceramic craftsmanship. Since returning to his hometown in 2012, he has focused on preserving and innovating Jian ware techniques, with a special emphasis on the traditional firing methods and the distinctive Jian Zhan glazes.

In 2014, Wu Xiaoqing established the Yuyan Ceramics Art Studio, where he continues to refine his artistry. His works were selected in 2017 as official gifts by the Palace Museum, reflecting both his skill and the cultural significance of his creations. He is a member of the Asia Ceramics Association and has earned numerous honors for his contributions to ceramic arts.

Studio and Firing Techniques

Operating a traditional wood-fired dragon kiln, Wu Xiaoqing is committed to preserving authentic firing methods while combining them with modern precision. His kiln, known as Wu Xiaoqing Milong (密龙), reflects a dedication to both tradition and excellence in every piece produced.
