About Sun Fukun:
Sun Fukun, born in 1966, is a distinguished Chinese ceramic artist and a leading figure in the revival of Jianzhan, the celebrated Song Dynasty tea ware. As one of the first officially recognized inheritors of Jianzhan craftsmanship, he has dedicated his life to preserving and innovating this ancient art form.
Artistic Journey and Achievements
In 2013, Sun was honored as a representative inheritor of Jianyao Jianzhan by the Jianyang Cultural and Sports Bureau. His works have garnered numerous accolades, including:
- Gold and Silver Awards at national and international exhibitions, such as the 31st International Gifts and Crafts Expo in Beijing and the 14th National Arts and Crafts Expo.
- Recognition as a Fujian Provincial Ceramic Arts Master and Senior Craft Artist.
- Winner of the “Min Yi Cup” Gold Award and the “Strive for Excellence Cup” Silver Award.
- Works collected by institutions like the China National Museum of Fine Arts and the Quanzhou Museum of Arts and Crafts.

Sun’s creations, particularly his acclaimed “Partridge Spot” (鹧鸪斑) and “Oil Droplet” (油滴) tea bowls, are celebrated for their intricate glaze patterns and harmonious forms. Beyond his artistic endeavors, Sun is committed to education and cultural preservation. He serves as a visiting professor at Quanzhou Vocational College of Arts and Crafts and holds leadership roles in several cultural organizations, including:

In 2018, Sun established the Lu Huaping Jianyao Jianzhan Co., Ltd., a cultural enterprise focused on the research, production, and promotion of Jianyao Jianzhan. The company is now a recognized demonstration base for traditional ceramic arts in the region.
