Ni Ning is a respected Jian Zhan artist from Jianyang, Fujian, associated with the traditional wood-fired studios Chize Dragon Kiln (赤泽龙窑) and Fu Shou Tang (福寿堂). He has dedicated his career to preserving and innovating within the heritage of Jian ware ceramics, combining deep technical knowledge with a strong artistic philosophy.
Ni Ning is a member of multiple prominent organizations, including the Jianyang Jian Zhan Association, the China Collectors Association, the Fujian Provincial Ceramic Association, and the Nanping Arts and Crafts Association, where he also serves as a council member. He is recognized as a mid-level arts and crafts technician and has been named a Distinguished Artist of the First Nanping Arts & Crafts Exhibition.
His work has received national awards and broad institutional recognition. In 2016, he was awarded the Gold Prize at the 14th National Arts and Crafts Exhibition, as well as the Silver Prize for Outstanding Ceramic Design. In 2017, he received the Silver Prize at the “With a Craftsman’s Heart” Jian Zhan Competition. His pieces have been collected by several major museums:

Ni Ning specializes in iron-rich clay bodies and mineral glazes fired using traditional wood kiln techniques. His glazes emphasize natural beauty, dynamic crystallization, and classical elegance. His artistic philosophy is rooted in rural simplicity and lifelong dedication, summarized in the poetic line printed in his booklet:
“In the quiet countryside, I live among trees and clay.
