In July 1983, Lu pioneered an innovative approach to JianZhan firing using electric kilns, successfully replicating the distinctive effects of traditional oil-spot glaze. This groundbreaking technique soon gained industry-wide recognition and media attention, earning him the reputation of being the first in China to master this revival. That same year, his work Dripping Oil Spot was acquired by Japanese collectors and museums.
His continued exploration produced celebrated works such as Hawk’s Eye, Rabbit Fur, Rare Pearls, and Celestial Transformation, which are treasured by collectors worldwide.
With nearly four decades in the field, Lu has conducted countless day-and-night firing experiments—over 100,000 trials—to recreate the hidden treasures of the Song Dynasty. His masterpieces are regarded by many as “National Treasures,” reviving the ancient brilliance once lost in history.
