Jin Hongyang (金宏杨)

Jin Hongyang is a new-generation Longquan celadon artist and inheritor of the Jin Pin Kiln tradition. Born in the 2000s, she grew up in the historic kiln town of Baoping, surrounded by the rich cultural heritage of Longquan celadon. Today, she is the manager of Longquan Mingyuan Ceramics Co., Ltd. and a key figure in continuing her family’s ceramic legacy.

Early Life and Training

From a young age, Jin Hongyang was immersed in the world of celadon. She learned traditional dyeing and firing techniques from the Longquan masters around her, including her grandfather, the late Jin Pin, a renowned folk kiln technique inheritor. Over more than seven years of dedicated study, she mastered traditional kiln methods and refined her skills in product design, blending historical craftsmanship with a modern Chinese aesthetic.

Artistic Style

Her work reflects a fusion of classical Longquan celadon techniques and contemporary design principles. By integrating ancient firing traditions with modern artistic sensibilities, she creates pieces that are both culturally rooted and visually fresh. Her celadon works have been widely praised for their elegance and craftsmanship, gaining popularity among collectors in China and abroad.
