About Huang Wenhua (黄文华)

Founder of Heyuan (和远·山隐)
Huang Wenhua is the founder of Heyuan 山隐, a studio nestled in the mountains and devoted to the refined art of Jian Zhan teaware. Embracing a return to nature, he creates elegant, comfortable Jian cups rooted in tradition.

Trained under master Wu Zhoufu, a recognized inheritor of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, Huang fuses ancient techniques with a modern eye. His works celebrate the peaceful balance between form, function, and nature.

  • Mar 2021: Featured in Xinhua News as a young artisan returning home to craft Jian ware

Cultural Heritage Certification

The Heyuan studio and its work are officially recognized under China’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage. They also hold the Geographical Indication (GI) certification, confirming authenticity and regional origin.
