Cao Wei Jun is a distinguished figure in the world of Jian ware, recognized as a mid-level arts and crafts master and a second-level national technician in China. Based in Fujian province, he is considered a rising talent in the ceramic arts industry.
He is the founder of the Hualong Jian Zhan brand, known for blending tradition with innovative glazing techniques. Among his most celebrated creations is the Golden Silk Blue Peacock Feather Surface (金丝蓝孔雀釉面), a glaze style that evokes both elegance and natural wonder.
Cao’s works have received several national honors, including:
- 2015: Silver Award at the 4th China (Dalian) International Cultural Heritage Expo (中艺杯).
- 2015: Gold Award in Arts and Crafts at the 4th China International Cultural Expo for his “Ancient Oil Drop Partridge Cup” (复古油滴鹧鸪盏).
- 2017: Gold Award at the 9th Cross-Strait Jian Zhan Exhibition for his “Partridge Spot Dou Lid Cup” (鹧鸪斑斗笠盖).
He is also a board member of the Jian Zhan Association and continues to develop styles that honor the spirit of Song dynasty tea culture while exploring bold, modern interpretations.
